PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Roman Signer is a Swiss artist who creates ephemeral sculptures, his pieces sometimes only last a few seconds. Many of his sculptures utilize natural elements to cause the reaction that changes the artwork.
In an assignment to create a poster for an upcoming Signer Exhibition, I chose to try and create a poster that would change over time like his sculptures do. After many experiments that involved sand, wind, water, and ink; the water and ink experiments were taken further. I tried several different "ink" types (water-soluble crayon, watercolor paint, indian ink, water-soluble colored pencil, food coloring, etc), and set the posters in nature to be effected by rain.

The goal of the work was to embody the natural material and empemerality that Signer utilizes in his artwork.
